Frequently Asked Questions
-
What types of barcodes can this scanner read (1D, 2D, QR, DataMatrix)?
The majority of Newland's scan engines read virtually all barcodes. The portfolio ranges from entry-level 1D-only barcode scan engines to 1D/2D (including QR and DataMatrix of course) barcode scan engines that decode in the same engine or include NFC functionality. The portfolio is diverse, so please contact us if you have any questions.
-
What connectivity options are available for the scan engines?
The options per scan engine may differ, but typically support TTL-232, RS-232, and USB.
-
How compact are the scan engines?
Ranging from 1.2g to 33g, Newland's scan engines come in various weights and compact sizes to fit anywhere*!
(*With the exception of the RVM Ring Scanner, which is 2610g and is actually 5 or 10 scan engines in one scanning solution with rugged housing for reverse vending machines.)
