Newland’s Next-Gen MT65 Beluga III Promises Maximum Performance
Newland EMEA, a popular manufacturer specialized in barcode scanning devices, has today announced the next generation of their MT65 Beluga. The Android Mobile Computer has always offered a solid performance and the third incarnation pushes things even further.
Most improvements are behind the scenes, with several hardware parts undergoing big improvements. However, the benefits are easy to spot when you start using the MT65 Beluga III. The device has four main hooks: a megapixel scan engine, more memory, an updated processor and, most visibly, Android 7.0 Nougat. Additionally, each unit is equipped with Newland’s free mobile device software: Buckets.
Megapixel Scan Engine
The overall design of the MT65 Beluga III is exactly the same as its predecessors. The rugged exterior, physical keyboard and 4.0″ color display have made the MT65 Beluga a staple device for businesses of all shapes and sizes. But the trained eye will spot a significant difference: a new megapixel scan engine. The engine (1280×960) ups the scanning performance of the device, enabling it to scan virtually any 1D and 2D barcode with impressive speed and ease. But the biggest advantage of the megapixel scanner shows in warehouse and logistics applications. The higher resolution means even small barcodes can be read from a longer distance. That means it is now easier to scan a barcode on a shelf or on a box on the ground, without needing to move the mobile computer closer.
Android 7.0 Nougat
The MT65 Beluga III is one of the first Newland Android Mobile Computers that runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. The new operating system brings the device improved battery life, additional security and an overall more user-friendly experience. More Memory
With double the RAM and ROM, both the system and applications used on the MT65 Beluga III are supported well. The device upgrades from 1 to 2GB RAM and from 8 to 18GB ROM.
Upgraded Processor
The MT65 Beluga III sports a new 1.3GHz quad-core 64-bit processor. This allows the device to run fast and smoothly, despite more demanding features like the megapixel camera and Android 7.0 Nougat.
