What will you be doing?

At Newland EMEA HQ, we’re growing fast and that means our website needs to do more and more for an increasingly global audience. As Web Developer & IT Specialist, you will take ownership of Newland’s international company websites, as well as the (brand-new) intranet. You’ll work side by side with the the marketing team, sales managers, a graphic designer and partners from all over the world. This includes translating requirements and new ideas into fully functioning, analysed and (A/B) tested features for the existing WordPress website. Plus using front-end web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) to build additional sections of the website and creating a spin for new brands and regions. You will troubleshoot all website issues, identify and respond to all website security breaches. You’ll be given the freedom to make meaningful and measurable improvements to newland-id.com.

As you’ll be working closely with the marketing team, any marketing/communication insight is a plus. Together, we will be looking at creating interesting and on-brand website content, we’ll be keeping up-to-date with industry best practices and we’ll be creating strategies to grow web traffic metrics. That means Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and email marketing development will come into play as well.

What are we looking for?

  • You have a degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering (or a related qualification) OR a minimum of 3-5 years work experience in a relevant role
  • You are highly proficient in working with WordPress
  • You have an expert understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL
  • You are able to troubleshoot website issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Ideally, you have experience with international websites, including templating languages
  • You have excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • You’re happy to jump in and help your colleagues with small IT-related issues around the office
  • Experience with SEO and content creation are an advantage
